NEWTOWN – Guests were treated to some beer and food pairing at the SAB World of Beer in Newtown on 9 July.
Sounds of yum, wow and delicious dominated the Beer and Food pairing event at SAB World of Beer in Newtown on 9 June.
In the words of Denis da Silva, SAB Trade Brewer, wine accompanies food well, but beer complements foods.
“Beer has many different flavours and textures that pair with a large variety of food – more so than other beverages, including wine,” Da Silva said.
Guests were treated to a four-course meal accompanied by different kinds of beer.
Anton Erasmus from SAB Trade Brewer said beer and food work quite well.
“I appreciate food and I am very interested in beer. I have spent time and money visiting places and people and I used to watch people and faces when things were done in a different way,” said Erasmus.
He said his team took time to prepare the meals, “We stumbled upon things and I had to use my experience and we also took some risks, but we knew these ones do work well. Beer and food work quite well.”
Going forward, the pairing will be open to the public at a cost and will happen on the last Friday of every month.
