Alchemy Academy and Wits Tang Soo Do (TSD) Association students mainly from Sandton, Northcliff, Melville and Randburg won 27 medals at the TSD Martial Arts World Championships in Las Vegas.
The championships ran from 31 July until 1 August.
Team SA and the TSD Martial Arts Champions returned to South Africa on 6 August after winning a tally of 71 medals.
“Some of the winning contestants are coached by Master Gregory Hart and won a tally of 11 gold, nine silver and seven bronze adding them to a total of 27 medals,” said Sheena Hart of Alchemy Academy.
Master Gregory is a 6th Dan Tang Soo Do and 2nd Dan in Haedong Kumdo (Korean two-hand sword).
The South African National Team and President’s Team competed against Tang Soo Do martial arts and Haedong Kumdo (Korean sword) teams from England, Scotland, Holland, Greece, USA, Germany, Poland, Belgium, Denmark, Ireland, and Aruba.
