Residents mourn the death of Kim Lugli
Well known Lupus sufferer unexpectedly passes away .
Residents are mourning the unexpected death of well-known ex-public relations councillor Kim Lugli who passed away last month.
According to a close friend Edward French, Lugli was found dead in her bed by her landlord Merle Jacobs.

French said although Lugli had been diagnosed with lupus in her early ’30s and was very frail, her death was unexpected.
“When I received word of Kim’s passing I was shocked,” said French.

French stated Lugli fought the illness for 40 years and thus became one of the oldest lupus survivors.
Ward 117 councillor Tim Truluck said Lugli will be best remembered in the community for her contribution toward the implementation of the blue footbridge in Victory Park.
“The footbridge has made a tremendous difference, people have been able to cross the spruit from Parkhurst to Victory Park with ease. Residents will be forever grateful,” said Truluck.
Lugli’s brother Ken Miles, who stays in Scotland, is the only family member she has left, as she had no children.
Miles said his fondest memory of Lugli was her passion for any task she took on and her compassion towards others.
“Kim was a survivor against all odds,” said Miles
Lugli’s funeral was held on 12 August.
Truluck described the ceremony as a small intimate tribute to a community member that will be dearly missed.
