Abbotts College learners clean up the streets

NORTHCLIFF – The Green Club at Abbotts College Northcliff lead an effort to clean a busy intersection.

The Abbotts College Northcliff Green Club pupils took to the streets recently in an effort to clean up the intersection of Beyers Naudé Drive and Judges Avenue.

Armed with gloves and bin bags, the Green Club cleared papers, plastics, broken bottles and fast-food wrappers as part of an annual clean-up drive.

The Green Club is made up of Grade 10, 11 and 12 pupils who are committed to making a positive impact towards a greener Earth.

The clean-up is a response to the ongoing deterioration of the environment. The members believe that we have no right to leave future generations with the heritage of our environmental mistakes.

The Green Club hopes the clean-up will serve as a call for action. The learners hope that by acting locally, each person can make a valuable contribution to the global cause of a greener, cleaner earth.
