King David School hosts Super Shabbos

VICTORY PARK – Learners and parents pray together during the Super Shabbos hosted at King David primary school.

The King David Victory Park Primary School hosted a King David Super Shabbos on 13 November in partnership with the parent-teacher association.

The event that was held in the morning was attended by learners, parents and teachers. It began with a davening ceremony on the school field. Parents had the opportunity to join the learners for the davening and a musical Hallel on the school’s stands.

Musicians Johnny Sklar and Yochi Ress entertained learners and parents with their musical talents for the davening. The whole school was invited to attend a ‘Super Shabbos’ event, with a Schul service that night. Learners led Kabbalat Shabbos, followed by delicious Kiddish.

Head of Jewish Studies Kareen Sanders said this is the first time King David School Victory Park hosted a Super Shabbos event. “The event was made possible by the PTA and school where parents prayed for their children and the spirit of Judaism came alive,” Sanders said.

Sanders also said the Super Shabbos went well where learners got involved and enjoyed praying with their parents who thought the overall day was lovely.
