De La Salle Holy Cross College celebrated a visit from Brother Robert Schieler, who came all the way from Washington D.C.
Schieler is the leader of the largest order of religious Brothers in the Church dedicated to education and was elected as Superior General at the 45th General Chapter in 2014.

De La Salle Christian Brothers is a Roman Catholic religious teaching order founded by Saint Jean-Baptiste de La Salle, a French priest.
The visit started with a junior school assembly at 11am and the senior school followed with their own assembly at 1.30pm.
At the senior school assembly, principal Debbie Harris welcomed Schieler to the school, adding that his visit was an inspirational one.
Head boy and head girl, Philani Mpofu and Deena Martin followed Harris’ welcome with a reading from the bible and prayers, which were followed by everyone singing the school song.
The hall echoed with the melodic hymns the college-goers had prepared for Schieler. After the beautiful singing, a video of past college-goers who shared how they felt being part of this college family was played.
In the video, they expressed how being a part of this global family is like nothing else and gave them a deeper sense of purpose. They felt they were part of a community that was helpful.
To end off the assembly, Mpofu and Martin received their special red blazers which they wore proudly.
