De La Salle scores brownie points

VICTORY PARK – De La Salle Holy Cross Junior School College celebrates Founder's Day.

VICTORY PARK – The Scouts, Cubs, Guides and Brownies who attend De La Salle Holy Cross College Junior School celebrated Founder’s Day on 22 February by wearing their uniforms to school.

Scouts around the world commemorate the birthday of Lord Robert Baden-Powell, founder of the Scout Movement.

The youngsters wore their uniforms proudly and gave their peers interesting information about their mottos, activities and the projects they take part in.

“The Scout motto, Be prepared, ties in very well with the college’s ethos of, Be first that you may be of service. This was a wonderful opportunity for the learners to show their service and their dedication for various community commitments,” said Mary Hyam, headmistress of the school.
