Local doctor murdered in cold blood

CROSBY – Police are unclear what the motive for the shooting was considering nothing was taken from the home or the victim

A well-known doctor was robbed, shot and killed outside his Crosby home on Wednesday, 21 June.

According to Jeanette Backhoff, spokesperson for the Brixton Police Station, the victim’s domestic worker was approached by a man outside the victim’s home while she was taking the garbage out.

The man held the domestic worker at gunpoint and demanded to see the owner of the home.

The domestic worker took the man into the yard where they found the victim at the main door. Once found, the domestic worker ran inside the house.

“The domestic worker alleged that while she was running to the second floor of the house she heard a gunshot. She turned around and ran down the stairs to the door and saw her employer lying on his back on the ground and the suspect was gone,” Backhoff said.

Paramedics were called and upon arrival the victim was declared dead on the scene.

The Brixton police are unclear about the motive for the murder, considering no property was taken from the victim. Only a cartridge and crowbar were found on the scene.

“A case of murder [has] been opened and the case [is] being investigated,” Backhoff said.
