MUST READ: Hunt on for hit-and-run suspect

NEWLANDS – A Grade 1 learner from Laerskool Esperanza was injured.

 

A seven-year-old was rushed to the Rahima Moosa Child and Mother Hospital after he was hit by a vehicle in Newlands.

The Grade 1 learner from Laerskool Esperanza was headed home when the incident occurred on corner 8th Street and Stonewall Road.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene while emergency services were called for assistance.

ER24 and SCP Security arrived immediately and assessed the scene.

They boy suffered moderate injuries and was treated before being transported to hospital.

SCP Security’s Clive Maher said the vehicle that hit the seven-year-old boy was grey in colour.

“We have a few leads and we are hoping that the suspect will be caught.”
