Take note of road closures for the MTN Half-Marathon on 2 June

FAIRLAND – Various road closures will take place during the seventh edition of the MTN Half- Marathon 2018 taking place in the Fairland area on 2 June.

Various road closures will take place during the seventh edition of the MTN Half-Marathon 2018 taking place in the Fairland area on 2 June.

The half-marathon will start at the MTN Innovation Centre on 14th Avenue, Constantia Kloof, and continue into various roads within the Fairland and Northcliff suburbs.

The marathon is aimed at showing support for the communities that MTN operates in.

Runners once again have a chance to join in the race and run or walk for a good cause.

Seasoned runners can look forward to taking part in the 21km race, with easier races available for the 10km run or 5km fun run.

The following roads will be affected between 5am and 12pm on the morning of 2 June:

  • Hendrik Potgieter Road
  • Constantia Boulevard
  • Golf Club Terrace
  • Panorama Drive
  • Jansen Dive
  • Diaz Road
  • Hierholdt Steet
  • Pauline Street
  • Clay Street
  • Edmund Street
  • Jim Fouché Road
  • Wilhelmina Road
  • JG Strijdom Road
  • Springhaas Road
  • Tennis Road
  • Haak-En-Steek Road
  • Market Street
  • Smith Street
  • 8th Avenue
  • 7th Avenue
  • 6th Avenue
  • 5th Avenue
  • 4th Avenue
  • 3rd Avenue
  • 2nd Avenue
  • 1st Avenue
  • Kessel Street
  • Johannes Street
  • Wilson Street
  • Wyoming Street
  • Bunkara Street
  • Pendoring Road

Motorists are encouraged to take note of the closures and plan alternative routes on the day.

Residents who live on the affected roads will need to carry proof of address on them to pass through the closed areas.
