SCP Security‘s Clive Maher agreed that the area has been experiencing a lot of gate motor thefts. He said, “What’s surprising in some cases is that the anti-theft brackets are being taken with the motors.”

In order to combat this as best as possible Maher gave the following tips:

• Ensure that your gate motor cannot be accessed from outside

• Weld a plate of steel on your gate so when it is closed your motor is hidden

• Invest in a reputable gate motor anti-lift bracket and ensure that it is bolted correctly.
