Linden police and CPF collect and donate items for those in need

LINDEN – Police thank the community for helping them win on Mandela Day.

Mandela Day magic touched local homes and a school.

Linden police and Community Policing Forum (CPF) members participated with the world on Mandela Day as they called on the community to help them donate biscuits, toiletries and sanitary pads to those in need.

The community heeded the call and donations started coming in thick and fast on 18 July, and they were ready to donate the collected items.

Robin Hills Primary, Silver Stream Retirement Village, Acres of Love children’s home, Ekklesia Park Home and Maxhaven Retirement Village were selected by the police to receive the donations.

In a day full of festivities, the police were able to visit every one of them to personally drop off the goods.

Linden police would like to thank every individual who donated an item which helped them achieve their goal.

They also reserved a special thank you for To Educate Academics (TEA) for the baked cookies, cakes and muffins for the police station.

The children at TEA went a day early in order to participate in the good deed for which the community is thankful.
