A case has been opened at Parkview Police Station to investigate circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body found floating in Emmarentia Dam.

The body was discovered around 3pm on 26 November by two fishermen.
Spokesperson for the station, Captain Tintswalo Sibeko said even though it had not been confirmed yet, the deceased was a 70-year-old man.
She could not specify whether the cause of death was a murder or suicide adding that those details would be confirmed by a report from Forensic Pathology Services.
An inquest docket has been opened and the investigation is ongoing.
