On 18 February, a female driver in a white Mercedes Benz was abducted during a hijacking in Northcliff and police are on the hunt for four suspects.
The spokesperson for Fairland Police Station Constable Michael Kayatla said, “One eyewitness said there were [four men] who confronted the victim, proceeded to abduct her and hijacked her vehicle.”
Kayatla added that money was withdrawn from the victim’s account and she was dropped off by the suspects in Mondeor.
Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) spokesperson, Senior Superintendent Wayne Minnaar collaborated Kayatla comments, adding that they had worked with other security companies when the case was called in to find the vehicle.
Kayatla said the search led them to Eldorado Park, Ext 9 where the vehicle was found abandoned and had been stripped of its valuable parts.
He added that a case has been opened and they were waiting on the victim’s account.
