Pizza store staff and customers robbed

AUCKLAND PARK – R10 000 worth of goods and money stolen at pizza store.

AUCKLAND PARK – Employees and customers at a pizza store were robbed on Empire Road on Valentine’s Day.

While many celebrated Valentine’s Day on the 14 February, a fast food store was held up in a robbery.

According to Brixton Police Station spokesperson Jeanette Backoff, a case of business robbery was opened after suspects entered the store with firearms demanding money from the cashiers.

She said, “The manager of the shop reported that four males entered the shop, two of them were armed with handguns. One of the suspects pointed the teller with a firearm and demanded money from the till while the other two amongst the four were robbing the customers of their cell phones and money.”

The suspects fled the scene before police or any security service could arrive on the scene. Backoff stated that the estimated value of stolen money and valuables was R10 000. The case is currently under investigation and police are urging anyone with information to come forward and share it with them.
