An international collection of art

EMMARENTIA – Acrylic, oil, watercolour, pencil and charcoal art fill Marks Park.

A multicultural and international art exhibition was held at the Argentinian Association at Marks Park Sports Club on 19 May.

The Argentinean Association of South Africa (Aasa)  opened their doors and hall to host the exhibition. According to Oriana Perez Casanova, member of the association and one of the artists that had their work on display, the event went perfectly well due to the number of people who attended.

Casanova stated that the exhibition was one of international flare and flavour. “The exhibitors were a group of multicultural artists, tutored by art teacher Win Wilson, who coincidentally are of different nationalities such as Angela Bento from Greece, the Bulgarian Milena Ostrovska, the Portuguese Lila Baptista, Lesley van Rooyen from South Africa and myself from Chile.”

The artists enjoyed exhibiting their work and all did so in different ways. “They are all passionate about art and each one exhibits a different style and approach to painting in various mediums including acrylic, oil, watercolour, pencil and charcoal. However, they all agree that art, in whatever form, uplifts the heart and soul,” Casanova said.

For those who missed the exhibition, worry not. Casanova said there are already plans in place to host another one soon. “Due to the success of their first exhibition promoting their art, the group intends to arrange further exhibitions in the near future.”
