Fun filled war-cries for ‘Clash of Kingdoms’

NORTHCLIFF – Children can expect a fun and raucous time during Holiday Club, while parents can feel reassured of a safe and supervised time of play and action.

Northcliff Union Church will this year again run a free Holiday Club for over 200 children in the greater Northcliff area, over a full week during the school holidays, with lots of games, action and unrestrained screaming.

Many moms are keen for their kids to have something to do during the holidays. This free community initiative by the church is both safe and fun and it will be held from Monday, 24 to Friday, 28 June from 8 am to 12 pm. All grades 0–7 are welcome. The theme this year is ‘Clash of Kingdoms’, and the leaders will be dressed up as knights and damsels, to add to the atmosphere.

Youth Pastor Andrew Franks said, “We are excited to host kids from our community to this year’s event, it is always filled with laughter and war cries from our young ones, which is just great. Our teenage and young adult leaders benefit from the leadership development experience, and the children love the opportunity to get involved in activities which are guaranteed to overcome the chilly weather.”

Children can expect a fun and raucous time during Holiday Club, while parents can feel reassured of a safe and supervised time of play and action. Kids will need to be registered online at www.nuc.co.za or on the Monday morning, for security purposes.

“We have 35 teenagers and young adults who have been working flat out for the whole of last week, painting huge backdrops of castles and knights and kingdom heroes. Our hall has been a hive of activity throughout the day, creating life-size images, and teams will be vying for top honours with some fun physical games, and singing to a live band. By the end of the week, the kids will be exhausted, and our teens will have gained an appreciation what it is like to look after energetic kids for a week,” expressed Franks.
