Joburg parks open for exercise
JOBURG – Joburg City Parks and Zoo will ensure these parks are open by midweek.

Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo has released a statement that reads it will reopen their parks so residents can get fit and keep healthy through exercising in close proximity to their homes.
While nature reserves like the Johannesburg Botanical Gardens, and others around the city, will reopen on 1 August to allowed for a phased-in approach, due to limited resources. Park users are urged to cautious and vigilant at all times while adhering to these 10 mandatory requirements:
- Wear a mask in public spaces at all times
- Practice social distancing of about 3 metres apart
- Events or gatherings are restricted
- Ensure that hands are washed and sanitised before entry on the park facility n Exercise only with persons within your household which is limited to a maximum of five people in a group
- Refrain from using ablution facilities and playground
- Remind children that the use of the gym and play equipment is restricted
- Take all disposables home including empty bottles and paper cups
- Leave all valuables at home to avoid opportunistic crimen Abide the public open spaces by-laws in place.
