An attempted hijacking and shooting took place on 8 October along Von Dessin Street.
According to Clive Maher of SCP Security, the company was alerted to the incident by a resident of a complex found along this particular street.
Suspects are said to have attempted to hijack an elderly woman who was driving a Mercedes Benz. Maher explained that after the suspects saw one of the community members approach with a gun, a shootout ensued. It was then that the victim was put in the boot of her car by the suspects.
During the shootout one the suspects allegedly sustained a gun-shot wound to the chest. After this, the suspects fled the scene in white Kia, driving to Westbury where they abandoned the vehicle and are said to have driven off again in a different vehicle.
Maher believed that based on the sort of injury the suspect sustained, and the amount of blood found at the scene and in the car, he most likely did not survive.
“So at this point the police will be searching for a body or searching hospitals looking for someone with a gunshot wound,” he said. Police have not yet confirmed this.
The victim, though shaken up, sustained no physical injuries.
