Roosevelt Park Bowling Club wins big
ROOSEVELT PARK – The club participated in the Personal Trust Mixed Challenge and won first place.
Roosevelt Park Bowling Club hosted the Personal Trust Mixed Challenge on November 6 to 7 – an event they were bowled over to have won.
This challenge, which is an eight-a-side knockout event, has clubs from all over the city participate. The event’s runner-up was the team from Belgravia Bowling Club.
Dave Putter, Roosevelt Park Bowling Club’s president, said this win had very little to do with home-field advantage and more to do with the fact that their greens were conducive to good play on that day.
He added that the weather was fantastic, the team’s morale was high and everybody enjoyed the fresh air. The winning team consisted of Jason Lee Evans, Johan Crafford, Michael Doyle, Bobby Donnelly, Shaun Thomas, Brandon Evans, Warren and Bern Steyn and Emma Murphy.
The club is now preparing for the next big event, the Pam Landau Tournament – a national competition that will be hosted by the club in December.
