A joyful, faithful 2021
NORTHCLIFF – The year seen through the many forms and shapes of water.
Northwest Christian School’s principal sees the 2021 academic year through a song by Chris Tomlin.
Northwest Christian School principal Ezette Oliver writes:
In the song Waterfall by Chris Tomlin, many examples of water (H2O) are referred to, a waterfall, the ocean, streams, floods, rain and even rivers. This song portrays the Northwest Christian School’s (NWCS) journey throughout 2021.
A challenging year in which we had to make impromptu plans about events that came like a flash flood. Yes, we had to do online teaching in January, but we were, fortunately, not completely new to this – a trickle of grace.
Throughout 2021 we were often reminded that NWCS belongs to the Creator. Our learners did not have to miss one day of school or one section of the curriculum as they each had their own desk and all protocols were in place from the word ‘go’. We had two fun-filled Drive-In Celebration Services; our numbers remained stable; our staff, council, PA and parents gave of their absolute all; our past pupils excelled in independent and government high schools; we could, finally, start playing and excelling in competitive sport again and we were able to build a perimeter wall and revamp our Grade R and Grade 1 playground facilities– streams of mercy and provision.
There were often times when we were overwhelmed by everyone’s care and genuine concern, especially when families were diagnosed with Covid-19, when families lost loved ones and when finances were tight, but God orchestrated rivers of grace to restore us all.
So as we look forward to the holidays, remember that God is not finished with you, yet. You are His to Optimise (H2O). May He flood you with His favour and remind you to dance in His healing rain during this Season of Christ. The One who created water, who walks on water and who is known as the Water of Life, is concerned with every detail of your life.
