A day for a perfect hiking

MELVILLE – Time to visit the Melville Koppies for good hiking.

Grey days might be putting a damper on your spirits, but it is perfect weather for hiking Melville Koppies’ trails. Visitors can choose from a 5km trail, a 3km heritage trail or just self-guide yourselves along the numerous paths that criss-cross the 55 hectare nature reserve and heritage site.

Melville Koppies volunteer Jenny Grice encourages people to visit the area.

“No need to pre-book. Adults R80, children R40; season ticket for a year per adult – R500 (not transferable). Security on the Koppies is provided, park in secure parking opposite the entrance at Marks Park in Judith Road, Emmarentia,” said Grice.
