De La Salle Holy Cross College welcomes its 2022 leaders

VICTORY PARK – The welcome was marked by a special assembly which was attended by a small group and livestreamed.

De La Salle Holy Cross College leadership team for 2022 was recently announced at an assembly that was attended by the Grade 11s and 12s, and livestreamed to the rest of the school.

The leaders of 2022 were handed their badges by the outgoing leadership team of 2021.

“Congratulations to the newly elected leadership team for 2022. As you uphold our Lasallian Holy Cross principles and lead your fellow pupils with kindness, acceptance, cheerfulness, compassion, humility, and gentleness, we will hold you in prayer,” said Debbie Harris, college principal

Head girl Samantha van der Merwe had this message for her fellow learners, “Leading through uncertain times can be daunting, but we have just demonstrated our resilience to adapt to change and adversity. Adversity is not something that can be overcome on one’s own. Standing alongside my peers, with our variety of abilities, I have no doubt that during these extraordinary times we will again take opportunities to learn and grow. Together, we’ll face future obstacles.”

Ryan Fallon, head boy, looks forward to the challenge ahead, “It is a great honour to be chosen to serve the college and college community as the head boy of 2022. It is one of the most exciting opportunities I have had at the college. I plan to use my new role to be an inspiration and a role model for all the pupils, just as the previous college head pupils were to me.”
