Blairgowrie Primary celebrates World Book Day

Teachers and learners dress up as their favourite characters from books.

Thing one and thing two, Shrek, Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, Thomas the Tank Engine, princesses, Sherlock and other delightful characters strutted their stuff at Blairgowrie Primary School.

This as learners and teachers dressed up as their favourite characters from books for World Book Day.

The school’s theme for the year is ‘today a reader, tomorrow a leader.

Teachers said encouraging the children to dress up as their favourite book characters promoted the love of books and reading, and it was a lot of fun too.

World Book Day is on April 23, but because this fell on a Saturday, the school celebrated it on Friday.
