Recently, about 108 of its residents enjoyed a high tea together that served as the perfect prelude to what looks to be an awesome year ahead for them. A year, village manager Marcia Visser, thinks will be filled with not only educational activities but fun ones too.

Visser described those events much like the high tea, are important as they get the residents out of their units. Following Covid-19, many of the residents still live in anxiety about something bad happening, so such events are great at reminding them of just how special they are.

Mixed into all the serious stuff, are the fun events too. On February 17, learners from Parktown High School for Girls will have their cupids bow directly aimed at the retirement home as they spend the day showing love to its elderly. There will also be a Morning Market in March, Christmas in July, Village Fete in September, and the hotly anticipated Spring Day which will see them yet again spend time with the learners of Parktown Girls, this time at the school. The school has been part of the village for several years and spending time with its learners is a highlight to both.
