Roosevelt High opens its grounds for firefighter training
The festive season break saw the school premises double as a training field for firefighters.
Roosevelt High School opened its grounds on December 22 to the Suburban Control Centre, which used the school grounds for firefighter training.
The training formed part of the school’s ongoing commitment to maintaining strong relationships with its stakeholders, with opportunities like this highlighting the value of collaboration and shared responsibility within the community.

Attention was firmly on the individuals undergoing the fire training, whose commitment, courage, and dedication to safety were acknowledged by the school. Their work, carried out under demanding and dangerous conditions, did not go unnoticed.
Principal of Roosevelt High School Cristel Venter said the partnership between RHS and the Suburban Control Centre is an exceptional one, and that the school was honoured to make its premises available for such vital training. She added that SCP Security supports the school in a massive way and that no request is ever too big or too small for Clive Maher and his team.

Venter noted that the presence of SCP has had a positive impact on learners, with a Grade 9 learner this year and another learner moving into Grade 10 next year already showing a strong passion for firefighting. “They make us feel safe, and we support them 100%.” Venter added that she believes there is no better security, fire, or all-around service company than SCP.
