[This is] because a few people have complained about the extension [of services] which has resulted in the closure of the existing dump site. I purchased my property in 1982 and have been dumping like many residents our garden refuse for more than 30 years. There are many senior residents living in the above-mentioned areas, for example, myself at 88 years old and my brother who is over 90.

We are now expected to dump our refuse at the Greenside refuse dump site which is a considerable distance away. With reference to the vagrant problem, I am confident that the local police station together with the most competent security company in the country, if approached, could contain the vagrant problem.

I earnestly appeal to the committee to reconsider our request.
