Johannesburg Water on scene at Montgomery Park pipe burst

Water will mostly likely be shutdown to areas fed from this water supply so repairs can take place.

UPDATE: Johannesburg Water (JW) is now on scene of a major pipe burst located on the corner of John Adamson Drive and Milner Avenue.

According to Ward 88 councillor Nicolene Jonker, JW was made aware of the problem at 22:00 on August 3, supplying them with reference numbers logged by various community members.

She finds it disappointing, to say the least, that it took JW about 12 hours to respond to the urgent matter. Adding it was only after she had made a call JW’s CEO that some action took place.

This pipe has been a contentious and frustrating matter for the community, as issues with it have been ongoing for months.

The councillor warns that this issue will necessitate that water be shutdown to areas that are fed from this water pipe.

The Northcliff Melville Times still awaits response from JW, who have acknowledged our request for comment on questions pertaining to this matter.
