Get ready for summer

EMMARENTIA - Adventure Boot Camp's Brand Ambassador Zetske van Pletzen shares her summer tips.

Summer is here! And it’s time to tighten those muscles and burn the winter fats.

And what better way to keep healthy than to take it from a woman who has always been in the spotlight.

Adventure Boot Camp brand ambassador, Zetske van Pletzen, better known for her roles in TV sitcoms and movies, such as 7de Laan, Binnelanders and On Target shares her natural summer beauty secrets.

Those who need a little help in getting ready for summer can check out Adventure Boot Camp at the UJ Hockey Stadium in Melville – the classes are designed to fit women of all sizes and ages.

Van Pletzen informed that she exercises three times a week for one hour a day at Adventure Boot Camp. She also shared that, “When you train hard, you don’t need to feel guilty if you allow yourself to indulge occasionally.”

Van Pletzen’s useful tips to getting ready for summer

  • Exfoliate and moisturise your whole body regularly – It’s really important to exfoliate your skin in the summer to remove dead skin and improve blood circulation.
  • Stay hydrated – Your body loses a lot of moisture in the summer, so it’s important to drink a lot of water and liquids and your skin will stay soft.
  • Wear sunscreen daily! Nothing ages you as quickly as the sun.
  • If you seriously want to tone your body, do not forget to take your protein powder. The daily intake of protein powder can boost the immune system and promote a vibrant and supple skin not to mention its role in promoting muscle strength and development.
  • Park your car a bit farther than usual, so that you are forced to walk more.
  • Choose salad instead of chips when you order food. Go for walks with a friend.
  • Eat loads of salads and vegetables – eating whole fruits is another great way to get the nutrients, water, and fibre your body needs to start looking more toned.

Adventure Boot Camp is an outdoor fitness programme for women with camps situated in Emmarentia and in all of South Africa.
