Bronze for Blitzbokke

RIO – South Africa crush Japan to take the bronze medal at Rio.

South Africa’s Sevens rugby team, the Blitzbokke, crushed Japan in the bronze medal match at the Rio 2016 Olympics, earning a bronze medal for their country.

They beat Japan 54–14 on 11 August, after Great Britain beat them through a controversial try in the semi-final 7–5, the Blitzbokke’s only glitch in what would have been a near-perfect Rio campaign.

Fiji dominated against Great Britain in the final, winning 43–7 to take gold.
