Arthur Newman – Opens 30 August
Wallace Avery (Colin Firth) hates his life and trades it in for a new one. He fakes his death and becomes someone new – Wallace Newman. Eager to leave his past behind, he sets out on a road trip with dreams of becoming a professional golfer. Enter Mike (Emily Blunt), a woman equally as dysfunctional as Avery who sees through his identity scam. You know the rest, a romance blossoms and things get complicated. Starring Colin Firth (The King’s Speech), Emily Blunt (The Devil Wears Prada) and Anne Heche.

Tattoo Expo – 30 August – 1 September
The fourth annual Tattoo Expo is back so prepare yourselves for the latest and greatest in tattoo artistry. Seventy of the country’s best artists will be in attendance, displaying their work and selling their craft. Look forward to music and dance, as well as the human suspension show, which is not for the fainthearted.

Literary Festival – August 30 – 1 September
The festival pays tribute to and draws inspiration from the late Nigerian novelist, playwright and poet, Chinua Achebe. South Africa’s most notable writers, thinkers, academics and activists are taking part, with Adam Habib, the new vice-chancellor of the University of the Witwatersrand, giving the keynote address.

Spring Boeremark at Askari Lodge – 1 September
Join the beautiful Askari Lodge as it celebrates its unique culture and heritage. Farmer’s markets, clay pigeon shooting and tons of arts and crafts are on the menu this Sunday, as well as tons of yummy things to nibble on, like mampoer, biltong and good old boerie rolls.
