VIDEO: A high five encounter

BRAAMFONTEIN — Geneva Ballet brings artistic expressions between SA and French performers.

The Geneva Ballet brought a ‘high five rendition’ to the Wits Theatre on 14 June in Braamfontein.

High Five choreographic encounter is about the artistic relationship between dancers and choreographers from the Geneva Ballet and South Africa. The dancers brought wonderful choreography on the stage, mixing beautiful theatrics and illusion.

The ballet company’s South African tour began on 8 June ahead of the performance of Romeo and Juliet at Joburg Theatre.

The collaboration provided artistic dialogue between five choreographers from South Africa and France and 30 dancers.

“It was a lovely show, I thoroughly enjoyed the show,” said resident Nthati Ransthedi.

The choreographic encounter seeks to enrich opportunities for artistic expressions through a sensible and sensitive, multi-cultural dialogue.

The show concluded to roaring applause and left the audience hoping for more, if not a bonus performance.
