Women of Stature are celebrated at Indaba Hotel

Women who have made remarkable strides in their various fields have been recognised through prestigious awards.

Keshnie Mathi from Greymont was the 2023 winner in the category of Coaching and Mentoring at the Women of Stature Awards, something she has continued her involvement with this year.

She has been providing mentoring support to the 2024 nominees and finalists on their journey towards the final awards gala and dinner held recently at the Indaba Hotel.

Mathi also announced Ncube Duka as the winner in the Coaching and Mentoring category on the night.

Charlotte du Plessis, founder and CEO of WOS, honoured women who have devoted their time to making a difference in their communities or professions by recognising their achievements while also inspiring others.

Guests and nominees were dressed to the nines for the high-level event.

Du Plessis said that the essence of the awards is not the award itself but the journey these women have embarked on. She acknowledged that even if there is only one winner, she applauds what each of them has done.

She said the credibility of the award is maintained by a very strict process that is being followed.

“We have over 200 women that were nominated, and those who are here tonight are the women that saved the cause. What we are looking for is women who are committed and are willing to be part of something that has longevity. I know on many occasions, people ask what differentiates the Women of Stature Awards and all I can say is that it is the process.”.

The nominees had workshops that they attended and also had to go through a very strict verification. They were adjudicated by adjudicators who are leading in their lines of work online through an electronic score sheet.

The distinguished guests were treated to delicious meals and good music. Annemarie Mostert became the overall winner of the awards and walked away with R100 000 sponsored by Zunaid Moti, founder of MotiMovers, and a R6 000 voucher from Emperors Palace. The nominations for 2025 are now open.
