Wrestling club, the Newcastle Cougars has returned home eight medals richer, following the South African Championships earlier this month.
It was a tough four days for the local team, according to club spokesperson, Surette vd Linde. While wrestlers grappled with the competition on the mats, team managers and coaches were also hard at work.
Only two competitions remain for the province’s wrestlers this year: the Shaun Bartlett Tournament at the end of October and the KZN Championships (the date is still to be announced).
