Community shows its support for CANSA
According to Estella Naicker, the CANSA community mobiliser, the weekend was a huge success.
The CANSA Shavathon is one of the association’s biggest awareness campaigns and fund-raisers.
By shaving their hair, spraying or gelling it different colours, the Shavathon allows people to show their solidarity towards those fighting the disease.
Three Shavathons were held over the weekend.
One was held on Friday at the two mini Pick n Pays, on Saturday, one was held at Newcastle Mall and then on Sunday, one was held at Amajuba Mall.
The weekend-long Shavathon experience allowed everyone the opportunity to participate in the event by either shaving their hair or colouring it.
According to Estella Naicker, the CANSA community mobiliser, the weekend was a huge success.
“The support from the community was amazing and we had a lot of positive feedback. The Shavathon really had a lovely vibe and I would like to thank everyone who made the events possible.”
