Sarel made Martizburg College sweat
Boys: you made the school proud and we wish you everything of the best for next Saturday against Weston at the Voortekker Rugby Day in Pietermaritzburg.

Sarel’s rugby boys have had a busy sporting three weeks! On Saturday, February 15 Sarel Cilliers 7s played at Voortrekker High School, Bethlehem.
They then played against Escourt on Tuesday, February 18 and then Welkom at the Sarel Cilliers Rugby Day last Saturday. On Saturday, March 1 Sarel played Empangeni High and on March 8 they played Maritzburg College.
At the Voortrekker 7s, Sarel Cilliers won the shield final against the hosts, Voortrekker High of Bethlehem.
The first team’s score against Escourt High was 53-0, to Sarel.
The first team played excellent running rugby, and the score against Welkom High was 66-3 in Sarel Cilliers’ favour.
Last Saturday all the teams went to Empangeni and played brilliant running rugby. The scores were: first team won 36-10; second team won 48-0; U/16 team won 15-7; U/15 team won 15-10; U/14 team won 38-0. Well done boys!
On Saturday, March 8 the first team played against Maritzburg College. Although they lost the match 31-17 the boys showed character, and their logo ‘Never surrender’ came to the front. Sarel was 24-3 down at half-time, but put up a brave fight and won the second half with 14-7 (two tries against one) to bring the score to 31-17.

Hockey
The Sarel Cilliers High School first team hockey girls attended a tournament at Wartburg on the weekend. They had some particularly tough games, but performed very well. Four games were played.
The team drew against Werda and Kingsway. Sarel Cilliers won 2-0 against Escourt and won 1-0 against Wartburg.
Wartburg Sport Festival – Netball
Die eerste netbalspan het opgewonde die bus bestyg in die vroeĆ« oggendure. Die eerste wedstryd was om 10:15vm teen Durban Akademie. Hulle het die span die loef afgesteek met ‘n telling van 7-14.
At 12:20pm the team played against Greytown High School and won the match with a score of 16-8.
Zizi and Philisiwe scored the goals while Ayanda and Baby intercepted the balls. Zama and Mbali did a very good job in the middle field. At 2pm they played their last match against Wartburg High School and won 22-2. Captain Zama Mgaga and her team made Sarel Cilliers very proud.
