New deadline for the Revitalisation Programme

A new deadline has been set for the on-going programme.

The deadline for the Revitalisation Programme, which has caused much controversy in town, has been moved to the end of April.

This is according to Sbu Buthelezi, who is part of the ALEDI Project Management Unit that funded the project.

Mr Buthelezi says that they faced a few hiccups as some of the contractors that had been hired were failing to do their work properly.

Demoina Lane and Mason Park will be completed by April the 28th while the High Street Bridge will be wrapped up between May and June.

The Mason Park project is said to have been separated into two phases as there were insufficient funds for its completion. As part of completing phase 1, the landscape of the park, measurements and paving of Mason Street will be done.

Then as part of the second phase, the team will start looking for fundraising options in order to complete the project.
