Purple toilet might be coming to you
“It is with great pleasure that Game will be donating R1 000 to CANSA,” said Mrs van Rensburg. “We are grateful to have been part of this initiative, and challenge other stores to do better.”

After a short stint at Game Newcastle, CANSA’s purple toilet will be moving on to the next businesses, Cambridge Foods.
Pulling the chain, Admin Manager for Game, Annelie van Rensburg braved the camera to nominate the next business. Being a cancer survivor herself, the project is close to her heart.
The exciting Purple Toilet campaign, kick-started earlier this month by CANSA Community Mobiliser Estella Naicker, will strike its third lucky participant this week.
The lavender lavatory will remain at Cambridge Foods until the manager decides on one of three good deeds. The company must either donate money to CANSA, enter a team into the Relay for Life or sponsor a gift for one of the cancer survivors participating in the Relay for Life challenge.
“It is with great pleasure that Game will be donating R1 000 to CANSA,” said Mrs van Rensburg. “We are grateful to have been part of this initiative, and challenge other stores to do better.”
According to Ms Naicker, there are some businesses eagerly awaiting the opportunity to play host to the purple toilet.
“CANSA is striving to eradicate this horrible disease, which is currently killing more people in the world than TB, malaria and Aids,” said Ms Naicker. “Whether it be through awareness campaigns, early detection or research, we are trying our best to make people aware, and not just in the usual run-of-the-mill ways, but rather in a way that is slightly mischievous.”
After committing to their chosen course of action, a video of the store manager nominating the next business and a short message, will be posted on our web site, www.newcastleadvertiser.co.za.
Ms Naicker might soon be crossing the threshold of your business with a CANSA banner in hand, her purple toilet in tow, and a ‘ransom’ note clutched in her fist.
