Netball
On Wednesday, May 14 Sarel Cilliers had their annual netball matches against Newcastle High School.
The U/16A team won 17-3, and the U/15A team won 8-7 after a nail-biting match. The U/14A team lost 8-14.
The second team won their match 10-6, with Londiwe Shange and Thina Dladla scoring the goals. Kwenza Ndlovu excelled at defending.
After a very exciting match the first team lost 9-23. Congratulations to Thando Mazibuko and Zizi Shabangu, who were chosen to represent the KZN-Sharks teams in their age groups.

Rugby: Newcastle tamed on home ground 
They come, they see, they conquer: this is becoming the norm for Sarel Cilliers’ first rugby team, which is winning all the away games. On Saturday, May 17 Sarel Cilliers played against Newcastle High. Yet another action-packed edition of schoolboy rugby, dubbed ‘The Battle of the Jungle’, saw the Sarel Lions taming the Tigers of Newcastle.
The scores were as follows: U/14 won 43-0; U/15 won 39-7; U/16 won 38-5; third team lost against Tugela High’s first team 29-5; second team won 46-5. The first team outplayed Newcastle and laid a brilliant performance, winning 40-10. Sarel Cilliers wish the boys all the best against Ferrum High on Saturday at the Ferrum High School sports ground. The first team kicks off at 11:30am.

Hockey
On Thursday May 15, Sarel Cilliers travelled to Greytown for the Umzinyathi U/14 hockey trials. 
The school would like to thank Dundee High School for the transport they provided, and congratulates the following learners who made the Umzinyathi team: N Vilakazi, N Sibiya, B Lushaba, N Motha.
