Stella draws first blood in soccer league

The first match of the league saw Stella FC face Fairleigh United. The match was fast paced with both teams determined to clinch the win.

Stella drew first blood, but the sense of pride was short lived with Fairleigh United scoring an equaliser within a minute.

Not wanting to be outdone, Stella went full force and managed to put itself in the lead by three – one before the half time whistle.

Shortly before the whistle was blown, Fairleigh United managed to score one more goal, making the score three – two by half time.

During the second half, the game proved to be no less different from the first half with both teams going out for the win.

Stella was the stronger team, as it secured a win of four – three over Fairleigh United.

In the next game, Amahlubi took on Sporting. Both teams were cautious on the field for the first few minutes, testing each other’s strength. While Sporting took control of the ball, the first half ended with no goals scored.

In the second half, both teams pushed each other to the maximum and it was in the last ten minutes of the match that Amahlubi managed to score a goal and winning Sporting one – nil.

This coming weekend’s fixtures will start at 1pm with Sporting going against Al-Ahly and Spartans facing Amahlubi and at 3pm.
