Lincoln Heights Secondary School’s (LHS) volleyball teams showed true spirit against teams from St Oswalds Secondary School, Phendukani High School and Newcastle High School (NHS) on Saturday May 24.

Four games with mixed teams were played and LHS and NHS made it through the finals. LHS was victorious with a score of 25-13 in the first set and 25-18 in the second set.

The LHS boys team also played four games and went through to the finals against NHS. LHS took the first set with a score of 28-26; the second set went to NHS with a score of 21-25.

With the sets tied at one each, LHS went on to win the third and final set, 15-9.

The champion server of the day was Shoalyn Diergaardt, the captain of the girl’s team, who made a record 23 out of 25 serves.

Well done to all the players and Lincoln Heights Secondary School congratulates the team on its triumphant performance.
