Wandile Khumalo
This past week Wandile has been making a name for himself in New York City, and proving that even our small town Dundee kids can make it in the Big Apple!
DHS proudly sent Wandile off, wishing him all of the best, to go and participate in the International Science Expo Genius Olympics. Wandile has worked incredibly hard on his project and deserves all the recognition and praise he is getting. Wandile was victorious and has really made his school, educators, community and our little town very proud. A full report on Wandile’s experience and achievements will be provided when he returns.
DHS supports SPCA.
Under the guidance of Mrs Carter, DHS learners were encouraged to donate money to the SPCA. A total of R1 200 was raised, 11EH contributing about R300 of this, and the money was used to purchase as much food as possible and some blankets. The SPCA is in need of help, especially during the winter months, and DHS would like to encourage anyone who can to join our learners and lend a hand to the many animals found in our community that cannot help themselves. If you really want to help, pop round and browse the cages and adopt one of the many adorable creatures that live at the SPCA. Anything you can do will be greatly appreciated.
NKZN Youth choir.
The NKZN Youth Choir, as well as other choirs, will be performing in a concert held in the DHS hall on 25 July at 6:45pm. Tickets are available from DHS, so please enquire at the offices. DHS looks forward to an evening of spectacular music and refined culture and we hope to have the support of the community. Congratulations to the 17 DHS learners who were selected to perform in the new and upcoming choir season. DHS wishes you all of the best!
