Another home consumed by flames

FIRE has destroyed yet another Vryheid home, this time on the corner of President and Hlobane Streets.
The blaze began this morning, June 24, between approximately 6:30am and 7:00am, on the second floor of Presbane Flats.
Although the cause of the fire has yet to be established, it is alleged that it was of an electrical nature.
The fire department arrived swiftly and managed to contain the blaze, while ambulance services were present to attend to the inhabitants of the flat who had suffered smoke inhalation and members of Vryheid Community Policing Forum were on the scene to ensure that all ran smoothly.
The gutted remains of the apartment bear witness to how quickly one can lose everything, but the community has, once again banded together and operations are already underway on facebook to assist the family whose possessions were lost in the fire.
