Freezing swim to raise funds for AACL

The Polar Bear Swim was organised and arranged by Egerton teacher Mrs Thurlow, with Mrs Haine representing the AACL.

The annual Polar Bear Swim was held this morning at Egerton Primary School’s swimming pool.

The Animal Anti-Cruelty League (AACL) was also represented, as the event served as a fund-raiser for the league. The pupils, as well as some of the teachers, braved the freezing water to swim a length of the pool.

The league would like to thank school principal Mr Callaway, who was present to watch the proceedings. “We would like to thank Egerton for always supporting us, as well as all the learners at the school for their donations, and we congratulate those who were brave enough to throw themselves into the icy water for a good cause,” said Mrs Haine.
