Child Welfare is happy to announce the approach of their annual Children’s Day.
Community members are urged to keep their calendars clear for August 30, 2014.
The event will be held at the NG Kerk grounds and the entertainment will commence at 8:00am, ending at 1:00pm.
This year’s theme is Children’s Market Day and will provide an opportunity for young entrepreneurs to run their own stalls and sell their choice of goods.
All school-going children are welcome to enter.
Age groups for the contestants are 10-12, 13-15 and 16-18. Please be advised that the age the child will turn in 2014 will determine the appropriate age group.
First, second and third place prizes will be awarded for each age group.
- First (R1500)
- Second (R1000)
- Third (R500).
Stalls will be judged upon their set-up; the appearance of the stall; neatness of the stall during the day; clear marking of all products and the originality of the products sold.
Prizes will be awarded to the stall as a whole, regardless of how many individuals are involved.
An entrance fee of R30 for each child is required for children to book a stall and is payable before August 15.
Entrance fee is based per child, but children are encouraged to book a stall together as it can be much more fun with a friend around.
After August 15, late registration will cost R50 per child, so children are urged to register soon.
Participants must supply their own Gazebo or umbrellas for protection against the sun and these must be secured properly. Stalls will be 3m×3m.
Entry forms and further information can be found at Child Welfare, 166 Landrost Street, Monday- Friday.
