Bodyguard in critical condition after shooting

Ezakheni police responded to the incident, and the bodyguard was taken to hospital in a critical condition by EMRS

Two handguns (pistols) were found at the scene where a mayoral bodyguard shot his wife before shooting himself in the head at their home in Ezakheni D-section.

It is still unclear as to what might have caused the bodyguard to kill the mother of his two-year-old child. It is alleged that an argument broke out between the couple late last night, around midnight, which turned violent.

Two cartridges were recovered, indicating that two shots were fired.

The mother of the bodyguard was called after the incident to inform her of her son’s serious condition.

It was initially thought that the couple’s two-year-old baby was present in the house at the time of the shooting, but subsequent reports say that the baby was not in fact there.

Ezakheni police responded to the incident, and the bodyguard was taken to hospitalĀ in a critical condition by EMRS.

Ward councillor Bongani Mkhize has confirmed the incident.
