Our local legend Frans Koch was also there!

These ‘chicken men’ pitted their feathers and plumage against each other when they competed in the SA Poultry Championships in Pretoria last week..
Leading the run was the almost-legendary Frans Koch who is in his 32nd year of showing off his finest birds around the country.
“This was my 15th SA Championships. I am taking up 13 birds including Australorps, Malays, Bantams and Phoenixs,” Frans said.
He was accompanied on the Great Trek to the TP Willemse Museum, where the show was held, by Barry Eckstein who is also a poultry judge from the Howick area, John Alison of Howick and Moses Gordon, Sathie Govender and Amith Rugbur of Chatsworth and Isipingo Beach respectively.
Frans returned from the championships on Saturday. Watch this space for results up date.
