Man attacked in Glencoe shop

A man was assaulted and robbed of his cellphone and money near the Shell garage on June 28. Police said the man had been approached by three men who found him at the Shell shop where he had gone to buy chips. The men accused the victim of owing them money and took him out of the shop where he was assaulted and robbed. A passerby came to the victim’s aid, upon which his attackers fled.

Worker steals from the site

Security guards chased and arrested a man they saw making off with scaffolding from the new development construction site in Sithembile last week. He was accompanied by another man, who managed to evade arrest.

Robbed of her cellphone

A woman was robbed of her cellphone by a man who threatened her with a firearm in her one-room house on Kemp Street. He had forced the front door open to gain entry.

R5 000, cellphone stolen

Over R5 000 in cash was stolen from a tenant’s room in Glencoe. The complainant’s suspicions were aroused when upon arriving home she noticed that the curtain had been moved. When she checked her bag, which she had hidden under a pillow, she realised that both her cash and cellphone were missed. Entry is believed to have been gained from the attached room, the lounge.
