Dagga cakes in Dundee

This little muffin is causing big trouble for police in the area.

Dagga cakes or space muffins as they are also known are making a damaging impact in town.
The muffins, which have become popular among scholars in the area, are seen as an alternative to getting high without having to smoke the dagga.
While some would think swapping a ‘joint’ for a cookie laced with marijuana is safer and more convenient, the consumption of dagga via the confectionary has greater and more pronounced side effects.
Two scholars experienced this first hand after ingesting the space muffins, resulting in the hospitalisation for one of them.
Side effects include nausea, disorientation, delirious, fever and paranoia. Cases of extreme hallucinations, panic attacks, increased heart rate and blood pressure also occur.
