Intensive learning at winter school

These students are prepared to brave the cold to ensure quality matric results

While many other students are enjoying their June/July holiday a group 150 students from various schools in and around Estcourt have been attending a winter school program.
The students attending the programme are from the Wembezi, Ntabamhlophe, Loskop and the Umtshezi circuits.
These students are prepared to brave the cold to ensure quality matric results.
The programme started on July 7 and will end on July 11.
Nestle, Casme and Nedbank sponsored the Winter School Programme. Transport facilities have been provided to avoid students having to travel the distance to attend the classes.
The aim of the programme is to improve matric results and increase the number of quality bachelor passes.
Subjects of focus are Mathematics, Accounting, Physical Science and Life Science.
The educators part taking in the programme are from Durban.
Mrs JR Singh said: “These students are very dedicated and hard working.”
She believes the students are going to do well at the end of the year.
Mr VT Nkabinde thanks Mrs S Juan, Estcourt Secondary School Principal for allowing the programme to take place at the school and for use of the school’s facilities.
